The program will also perform the social game, and a ranking the user based on how many rumors debunking articles they have to read. Users will also be notified if a news item they send to their friends is later found to be false. WeChat has higher than 900 million active users in China.

The China’s most popular instant messaging mobile app WeChat launched an extra feature that alerts users if news circulates on its accounts is false.

This New feature will be notifying the users if a piece of the news that others have received is assumed fake by Chinese censors, police or official media outlets, reports Efe news.
It is one of WeChat’s “mini programs” launched this year, this function is only on this platform, whichever Chinese netizens use for messaging, mobile payments, ordering food, and even renting bicycles.

The program will also function as the social game, The ranking user based on how many rumors debunking articles they have to read.
This App user will also be informed if the news they transfer to their friends is later observed to be false.

WeChat App has more than 900 million active users in China. This week, the company has reportedly shut down many popular social media accounts containing the fashion Harper’s Bazaar magazine.

According to the reports by South-China Morning Post, The Chinese Cyberspace Department this week shut downs some of the social media accounts of digital content creators. Those Social accounts were identified for celebrity rumor & news, and not for controversy political's content. These Cyberspace Administration claimed the censorship was intended to “proactively promote socialist core values.” China has established this new agency because of a  new cyber security law. That worked into effects on 1st June.


These report also noted that the Cyberspace Administration also shut down famous photographer Zhuo Wei’s Weibo account. He had 7.11 million followers.
